What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a ten-week course designed to help a person explore the basics of Christianity and answers to the big questions of life in a non-threatening and accepting environment.
A person attending Alpha may be an atheist, agnostic, seeker or believer. Many who attend Alpha do not attend a church.
The course is non-denominational and does not seek to recruit a person to a particular church.
One can check out the Alpha Course by coming to a Celebration/Kickoff dinner or by coming to the first night of the course. If you don't come back no one will call you or hound you.
We seek to make the Alpha Course as non-pressurized as possible.
YOU ARE WELCOME!
Alpha is for:
Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. Adults of all ages are welcome.
Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to have fun at the same time.
People meeting together. An opportunity to get to know others and to make new friends.
Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks.
Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.
Who Is Alpha For?
Alpha is for everyone! It's especially geared to:
• People interested in investigating Christianity. Atheists, agnostics, skeptics and seekers are especially invited
• Newcomers to the church.
• New Christians.
• Couples preparing for marriage.
• Christians who want to brush up on the basics, or who need a spiritual shot in the arm.

What Happens at Alpha?
The Alpha Course begins with a meal (donations accepted) at 6:30 p.m.
Then a video is shown featuring Nicky Gumbel who will be speaking over the 10-week Alpha Course on a number of topics such as:
•Who Is Jesus?
•Why Did Jesus Die?
• Why and How Do I Pray?
• Why and How Should I Read the Bible?
• Who Is the Holy Spirit?
• How Can I Resist Evil?
• Why and How Should I Tell Others?
• Does God Heal Today?
• What about the Church?
After each talk there is a small group time for everyone to discuss the topic of the video for that night and to ask any question related to it.. This gives an opportunity to get to know each other and to learn together.
